Prescription Drugs


Medcore HP contracts with Express Scripts, Inc. to provide Part D Prescription Drug Program benefits to all members of Medcore Gold and Medcore Gold-Select. Express Scripts has over 50,000 pharmacies throughout the United States to serve you. You may also choose to use Express Scripts' mail order service, which is a convenient and cost saving method of obtaining medications that you take on a routine basis. As a member of Medcore Gold or Medcore Gold-Select you have access to Express Scripts Call Center 24 hours a day.

Special information for Pharmacies


In order to properly process pharmacy claims the following information will be necessary. This information is present on the member's Application Acknowledgement Letter, their Enrollment Acceptance Letter, and the Member's Pharmacy Identification Card. It is repeated here for convenience.

Notice of formulary changes for 2008 - April 1st through June 1st


Due to changes in the availability of various drugs on the market Express Scripts and Medcore HP are making a number of changes to the 2008 formulary. Effective on April 1st, 2008, we are adding nine drugs to the formulary that are new to the market and decreasing the level of cost sharing on four others. On May 25th, 2008, two drugs will be removed from the formulary as they are being taken off the market. Finally, on June 1st, 2008, five other drugs will be removed from the formulary as they are replaced with generic alternatives. For specific details on the changes please see the document below.
